Welcome to the Hedgcoxe Elementary website. I hope you find our site helpful and that it gives you a glimpse of our outstanding campus. We currently serve approximately 425 students, and our school motto is: “Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of Hedgcoxe.”
Our goal is to provide a safe, student-centered environment where children can grow both socially and academically. We always welcome new friends and new faces, and we encourage you to join our Hedgcoxe family. The strong connection among our students, parents, and staff creates an atmosphere of enthusiasm throughout our building. This partnership allows us to maintain high expectations, work collaboratively toward shared goals, and create the best possible environment for our students.
Volunteers are an integral part of our educational program, and parents are always welcome and actively involved in our school. Our PTA provides numerous opportunities for support and involvement. While many assume we have all the volunteers we need, we are continually developing new projects and activities and rely on additional volunteers throughout the year. We invite you to join our team! To become a volunteer, please complete the Plano ISD Volunteer Application online. This form must be completed annually. We truly love and appreciate our volunteers.

Hello Hedgcoxe Hounds!
Thank you for stopping by and visiting our Hedgcoxe Elementary website. My name is Alex Casado, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Hedgcoxe Elementary this school year.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such an incredible community as we invest in the lives of our students. As a child, Plano ISD was both a blessing and a safe haven for me. I attended Plano schools from first grade through my graduation from Plano Senior High School. In addition to those years as a student, I am excited to begin my fourteenth year in Plano ISD as an educator.
My professional journey has been filled with a variety of meaningful learning experiences. As a classroom teacher, my focus was on building strong relationships so we could work collaboratively to support each student’s dreams. As a Title I Support Specialist, I worked to strengthen instruction and deepen the understandings students need to be successful. As your Assistant Principal, my goal is to support our school motto: Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of Hedgcoxe. As a proud Hound, I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you.
I love my family, music, and my role as an educator. During my time in Plano ISD, I was surrounded by caring teachers who showed me genuine love and support, inspiring me to do the same for students today. I look forward to celebrating your successes, supporting you through challenges, and continuing to build upon the strong family and community that make Hedgcoxe such a special place.
Thank you,
Alex Casado
Assistant Principal
